Prisoners

Prisoners - Santa Cruise
Named after a group of prisoners that were 'imprisoned at this place around the time of the Mexican war.  They had been kept in Mexico but then jurisdiction change & they needed to be move to America; San Diego turned them away & so did LA, so they end up here on Santa Cruise, an uninhabited island.  They were confined only by the sea & left with  supplies to build shelter & a limited food supply.
Realizing that they would perish once the food supply ran out they devised a plan in which they basically built a raft out of the building materials & drift wood, then pushed off towards land.   Land being about 25 miles away but with the currents they drifted way south and actually made landfall where they were quickly re captured :-O & dispersed properly other real jails.

Lots of room for many boats, it's a great place to duck into when the head winds pick up like they do often.  Someone ran a cattle ranch for a while & the farm equimpment is still around rusting for all to see.
Lots of sea grass on the inside so holding can be misleading.  We always back down full power, most don't & someone dragged onto one of our anchor lines in the middle of the night; we held us & them.
